How to Create an Aesthetic iPhone Customization With iOS 14

The iPhone iOS 14 update is here and it’s time to customize! I’ve loved seeing everyone’s iPhone aesthetic layouts since the new update. I am still perfecting all of my screens, but I wanted to share tips for anyone interested in customizing their homepages with the latest iOS update.

Aesthetically Pleasing iPhone Homepage #1: Before You Get Started

I know we all want to start customizing our homepages immediately, but let’s do a little prep work first.

First take a moment to organize all of your apps however it fits your personal aesthetic. You can declutter your apps by putting them in folders or moving apps to the app library.

When you move an app to the “App Library” it won’t show on your homepage, but you will be able to access it in the library.

Now, to pick out your theme or aesthetic of your iOS 14 homepage(s).

Aesthetically Pleasing iPhone Homepage #2: How To Use Widgets

I used widgets to get these photos and the calendar on my homepage. I’m sure I’ll change them often throughout the year, but for now they’re perfect.

Aesthetically Pleasing iPhone Homepage #3: How To Customize App Covers

The most common question I’ve received about creating icons is where to find icons. I personally use the pro version of Canva for all of my graphics for my blog and business.

They have a ton of free icons you can use to customize your iPhone home screens. You can also find photos for your icons on Google, Pinterest, etc.

Example of social media icons
  1. Open Shortcuts app
  2. Select + button in top right corner
  3. Select Add Action
  4. Search “Open App” and select it under the “Actions” category
  5. Click “Choose” to select which app you’d like to add
  6. Click the three dots in the top right corner under “Next”
  7. Customize the shortcut name. This is where I typed the name of the app.
  8. Select “Add to Home Screen”
  9. Click the home screen name and icon to choose your custom icon photo
  10. Select “Add”
  11. Click “Done”
